Initially this swing was our saving grace. On our second night home from the hospital with our daughter, we discovered that she would sleep for 3 hours straight with a good swaddle and ride in the swing. From the start this swing was a battery eater. I didn't know that there was an option to buy a plug-in swing. We have likely spent hundreds of dollars in batteries--not wallet or eco-friendly. At about 2 months out, we noticed that the swing would stop swinging after 5-10 min. Now, 5 months old and this swing doesn't work at all. I would recommend looking for a swing that has the option of plugging in. Save your money and don't buy this swing!! 7 of 8 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Graco Silhouette Infant Swing, Milan (Baby Product) This swing has been a lifesaver for us with our firstborn. He was colicky up until he was about 3 months of age and having this swing meant sleep for my husband and I, as well as our son Payton. He now takes one to two naps a day in the swing and he is 6 1/2 months old and about 22 pounds. He's getting a little big for it, but it still works perfectly. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because we had a faulty part that we have had to replace 2x since the motor burnt out but Graco has sent us a free replacement part both times with no hassle. It was affordable and it has white noise, music and volume controls as well as vibrating on and off and a mobile. The swing comes with two toys that attach to the tray, which can also be used for snacks. The swing seat itself reclines in three different positions and we play with PJ while he's sitting up and he naps with it fully reclined. I DEFINITELY recommend this swing, it has been a lifesaver for our family and I'm more than excited to use it...Read more 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Graco Silhouette Swing, Laguna Bay (Baby Product) Having a Super Hyper baby who fights it's sleepy eyes just not to sleep. Mommy and Daddy needing a break we have decided to get a Swing when our baby turned 3 month and 14 pounds. The Swing itself was not a 100 easy to assemble. and it swinged so fast we thought it might be too fast for the baby... But once the baby was on it. It slowed down somewhat. Than a month later and already time for a set of new batteries and now with the baby at 15 pounds the swing doesn't swing much and the baby hates being on it. Now the swing was only used maybe on average up to 3 hours a day. So if you get the batteries for $9.99 per month you will most liekly spend close to $120.00 worth of batteries your first year of having it. YES, if you haven't decided yet even if the plug ins look a lttle too dorky. Your baby will love the visual more and it will help you save a bundle. Please go for the other one. The reviewer who mentioned the swing rubbing against the battery compartment. YES, it's true... I...Read more |
